We met from 1-3 at the bookstore. We reviewed reading comprehension techniques for her upcoming assessment tests. I provided a series of college level texts with comprehension questions like those that would be seen on the actual exam(s) and walked through the process of arriving at the correct answers. She showed improvement by the end of the session and was using text evidence to answer the questions.

First time again with the student after September test date. Working only on reading this time as other test scores improved well for September test date. Still trying to find a system where the student can balance the need for speed with accuracy. Attempting several new possibilities on practice section this week.

The student is doing pretty well with all the material we have covered. We will be meeting one more time to do a final review. She should definitely pass the exam this time. I am very confident she knows what to do for each problem.

Today we prepared for her history final. We looked up possible topics to answer her test questions, page numbers, and discussed how to approach each essay question. I feel that the student now has enough information to go off of and has a good idea how to answer each test question thoroughly and exact.

The student and I began the session this evening by reviewing analogies types. We completed several practice problems. He then completed sample problems concerning division and averages. He then completed several math practice problems. He did a wonderful job on the math problems involving averages. Nice work!

We worked on the concussion paper pretty much the entire time. Hopefully we should have that done pretty soon. Tomorrow we are either going to finish that up or work on the History Day project.
