Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered the precise definitions of limits and derivatives, reviewed the differentiation formulas and limit rules, the unit circle, trigonometry, functions, domain and range, inverse functions, L'Hopital's rule, and special trigonometric limits. The student struggled to remember some differentiation laws and the unit circle, but after seeing them again she quickly remembered and was able to do the problems."
"We covered the substitution method and the integration by parts method in preparation for the student's upcoming midterm."
"Worked in preparation for upcoming test. Focused on how to use u-substitution in solving indefinite integrals. The student should be in good shape for the test."
"During today's session, the student completed his homework, which consisted of transforming particular functions by describing how the parent functions are transformed given particular modifications of the parent functions. Although he was a little unsure at first, he finished his homework ahead of schedule. After this, I reinforced the concepts that we had gone over and had him do other problems orally. He was very excited about being able to grasp the concepts so well!"
"Today we covered problems and exercises from the 3rd chapter, including percentage increase, percentage decrease word problems, how to translate word problems into equations, and how to deal with percentage ratios properly. This includes shifting bases, which is a common occurrence. The student is serious about getting a good grade in this course and is well prepared to tackle the course."
"We established what background knowledge the student already had and began reviewing concepts in her algebra 2 textbook. By the end of the session she had mastered all of the concepts and seemed comfortable with the material. To help her out with negative numbers, we utilized number lines and different strategies for approaching the problems. Great session!"
