Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over practice problems and just talked general strategy. He is going to do more practice problems, which we will cover at our next session."
"The student and I had a very productive session. We went over the diagnostic test and then outlined a plan for our next session. At home, she will finish going over the diagnostic test and then create a list of formulae to memorize. When we meet next Monday, we will go over her list and address any problem areas that she flagged on her diagnostic test. We will then begin working through a GRE study book in preparation for the exam she plans to take in April."
"Since the student is several years past from her most recent math course, we started by going through several practice problems in her GRE prep book so that I could see where she needed the most assistance. She was pretty rusty in several areas, but her comprehension when concepts were explained was far above where her skills coming into the session were. This shows that she at one time had a grasp on most of the material, and as she becomes re-accustomed to mathematical rules and practicing problems, she should quickly increase her ability to quickly solve problems. Her algebraic reasoning was far above average, so if we can continue to work together on correctly interpreting the questions she will do very well. Once the problem is set up correctly and she knows what she is solving for, she can quickly get the correct answer. Her attitude is right where it should be; she is determined and knows she has to put in considerable effort to be adequately prepared by her test date, but she does not appear overly intimidated by the task at hand."
