Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we continued working with saber and conocer. We did many written examples and oral practice. Afterwards we learned the words for this that and those."
"Today's session was our first since the student resumed his classroom Spanish-language instruction. I hope to supplement his teacher's efforts principally in the areas of grammar and vocabulary, with an additional special focus on listening comprehension and speaking. In an effort to challenge him, I asked him to improvise parts of Spanish conversations that might occur in common real-world situations. In addition, I attempted to carry on brief conversations entirely in Spanish, adding gestures and other interpretive context clues as needed. In future sessions, I will continue to work with him on maintaining focus while listening and identifying any verb(s) as the key element(s) of conveyed meaning."
"The student and I worked on reflexive verbs and reflexive pronouns, writing strategies, and his chapter vocabulary. He reported that his quiz grades have been good. During my work with him, he caught on very quickly to appropriate use of reflexive pronouns and good conjugation of the most used reflexive verbs. We talked about how to expand his sentences to give them greater depth and complexity. We also worked on coming up with strategies to remember words from his vocabulary list, and we will incorporate more vocabulary practice into our sessions as well. He did very well on the material we covered during the session."
