Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I met for our final session. We began with the ACT Reading section because that is the section other than English that she said she had most difficulty with. We found online practice tests and began working on them. As we worked through the tests, she did very well on the prose fiction (even scoring a perfect on one of them). After we practiced reading for a while, she asked if we could review some math, especially geometry, since she hadn't done it in years. We reviewed circles (sectors, angles, area, circumference), triangles (special triangles, SOHCAHTOA), volume of a cylinder and a cone, and some coordinate geometry (distance formula, slope). She is very good at math and just needed some simple review. I have great confidence that she will do well on her test this Saturday. Before I left, I wished her well and repeated some advice I had given her earlier."
"I worked with the student today reviewing the work I assigned her last week, which was a full ACT practice test, timed."
"The students and I worked on SAT math to get them ready for their test in January. They are fast learners. We reviewed topics from percentage to rules of exponents to distance formula."
