"Covered solving the surface areas of various geometric shapes, learning how to divide up a shape into solvable shapes. The student needs mostly to practice solving various shapes allowing him to grow in confidence. His attitude has been great toward learning the material. One of my strategies for him is to take a top level look at the problem to determine the path for his solution to insure he is on the correct path. No concerns or issues at this time. He is step by step understanding how to solve and understand these problems."
"Today we covered various aspects of circles - chords, radius, diameters, secants, and tangent lines. The student was able to complete the practice problems after we went through explanations of the concepts. We will continue to work on geometry questions in preparation for her future exams and quizzes."
"The student and I went over composite figures, breaking them down or adding them up in order to find the total area. She is definitely much more comfortable using everything we've learned so far and is doing very well in moving through the concepts."
"We covered the following today: 1. Sin/Cos/Tan, 2. Hypotenuse must be longest side of a right triangle, 3. Solving for x, 4. Multiplying by reciprocal, 5. Quadratic form of equations, 6. Quadratic equations must be = 0, and 7. Factoring quadratic equations (we did 3 practice examples of this type of problem together). The student did well!"
"We covered equations of lines, midpoints, slopes of horizontal, intro to 3d space and perpendicular lines and line segments of triangles. The student was struggling with writing the equation of a line. She was confident and asked very specific questions. I reviewed the information needed to write the equation of a line and gave her a summary to memorize and review. She is doing very well at transferring the written terminology to diagrams. I'm very excited about her progress. She informed that she received an 89 on last test."
"We are continuing working on the Math Review packet. I think working on it bit by bit has been good for the student. It has allowed her to re-familiarize herself with old material."
