Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student is doing well. She spent time studying before I arrived. We spent time going over vocabulary and grammar from chapters 1 and 2 from her book. We did a lot of speaking practice and she did a really good job. For next time, she is going to review chapter 3 and we will continue to practice. I also recommended a website for vocabulary practice."
"Initial session meeting parents and client. Assessed client's needs and abilities. Client has great pronunciation, but will need help with vocabulary memorization. Reviewed first chapter, covering vocabulary words for the classroom and introduced client to indefinite/definite articles, gender-specific nouns, importance of accents, syllables, and initial steps on how to conjugate -ar/-er/-ir verbs."
"I first assessed the student's knowledge of Spanish by testing some vocabulary and conjugation skills. We set him up with an online account so he can practice flashcards to strengthen his vocabulary. We made goals for creating flashcards to review for his final exam coming up next week."
"Tonight we went over the I and II aorist active indicative verb forms. I used the whiteboard to differentiate past, present, and future tenses using a time continuum. We spent fully half the session on the aorist forms, and the other half on vocabulary building through cognates and reviewing the lesson. The student dropped one of her other Masters courses to concentrate on Greek. She is highly motivated. She is making good progress. I offered a mnemonic device to help learn the I aorist active indicative endings."
"Today the student and I went over grammar concepts and reviewed all the previous lessons. Next session she requested to end our sessions with real life conversations. She has a lot to practice until we meet again."
"The student was very knowledgeable with vocabulary. I spent most of the time reviewing vocabulary words and also getting to know my student personally. I also pointed out some important concepts from the chapter and we reviewed them."
