Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we reviewed possessive pronouns, direct object pronouns, stem-changing verbs and irregular verbs. We also covered unit 6."
"The student and I met up under continuing circumstances of summer transition. I chose to make it a lighter day with review, and explorations of the new topic of family. We started with sight card flash card review with which maintained a high level of recall- to the point that we won't be using that set of cards anymore. Some of those sight words were found in the story she read of "Caperucita roja." It was good to see the student read through rather proficiently and translate as well- both literally and with loose translations. In my book of "En Espanol!" I had the student share sentences describing a local family's morning. I also described aspects of the scene and had her to respond to questions in the book. In subsequent pages we practiced with varying exercises about members of the family and descriptions of them. We reviewed the conjugation of tener and did an actividad (book exercise). She's to study several pages for a quiz next week along with the months of the year, 7 question words and seven members of the family. We had a crash course with a lesson on "indefinite articles" and homework to follow up that concept as well as family and the months of the year."
"This was our first tutoring session. The student and I reviewed introductions, greetings, family vocabulary as well as present tense verb endings. Next session we will review months of the year, present tense verbs as well as numbers."
