"We worked on editing the database and fixed a few major bugs, mainly an infinite loop causing an out of memory error, and a syntax exception. We made plans for the next session and discussed things that will help keep code clean like using objects to store data and closing databases."
"The student and I went over units 5, 6 and 7 and did some specific loop examples. We are covering definitions and examples at a fairly rapid pace. The last unit we will cover tomorrow and we will then proceed to practice examples covering each unit."
"Discussed programming operating system concepts: processes, threads, multi-tasking, forking a process, context switching. She struggled mostly with understanding what happens to the program after the child process is forked. We went over it multiple times and used some programming examples to illustrate the process, and now she is starting to understand it. Now that she understands the process, the assignment should make more sense. We also went over the assignment briefly but spent the majority of the time going over the concepts, since these are necessary to understand before attempting the assignment. I recommended another session after she has had time to review the assignment and the code that is already written for her in the assignment. Also gave her some pointers on how to approach the assignment, such as working from the bottom up and to review recursion, since this will make the assignment easier to complete."
