"I love the arts and the sciences, so I decided to major in both areas. In particular, I love learning about biology and especially the human body (anatomy). Though it may be intimidating trying to memorize every bone and tissue in the body, I have learned how to master memorization and hope to share my methods and my passion for science with others who just need a little extra help. I also believe that having a passion unrelated to science helps to balance out the rigorous studying, which is why I support the arts, sports, and other extracurriculars. I have tutored various ages from middle school students to undergraduates my age." ...

" Learning and teaching are two things which I’m quite passionate about and have been since a young age. I began tutoring when I was in high school and continued to do so throughout my collegiate years. I’m knowledgeable in a wide variety of subjects; from trigonometry to chemistry to statistics to the LSAT, I am confident in my ability to help you to perform at your very best. As a tutor I do not strive to simply explain how to get the right answers, but rather to instill a deep and concrete understanding of the relevant concepts and theories at hand." ...

"However, the most necessary attribute of a good teacher seems to be enthusiasm for the material. Before I started graduate school I worked as an Outreach Instructor for the Arizona Science Center, where I was commended for my creativity and engaging style. I have a wide array of teaching experience, from introducing poetry to second-graders to teaching grammatical structure to undergraduates to conducting science experiments with retirees. My main goal in any subject, including testing, is to help the student learn the fundamental skills required to creatively problem-solve any new difficulties they encounter in the material, ...

"Little did I know that this would translate into something much greater when I became a tutor. Never did I think a job would allow me to make such a big impact on students.
Tutoring has become an important part especially since I have been studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Southern California. What I enjoy most about tutoring is that I get the chance to explore multiple teaching methods in order to find a method that works for each individual student."

"I am not satisfied with simply having my A students (gracefully) slave through each school day or having a client begrudgingly raise his or her C- to a B+ after poking his or her anemic brain repeatedly with a stick. For me, the biggest reward as a mentor is seeing the look of awe in their faces after kindling the fire that fuels their curiosity and inspires them to learn about the world that surrounds them (while still managing to boost them up to the top of their class by cultivating discipline and superb study and test-taking skills!). I take pride in knowing that most of the clients I have worked with can now see learning the way I see it; and I look ...

"
I enjoy teaching because it is the best feeling in the world when you finally see the students “get” what has been taught. I teach from a student driven point, meaning the students have to find the answer and can’t get away with “I don’t know." I also make sure the student has ways to remember what was taught using pneumonics.
The spare time that I do have allows me to relax by making a quilt or going to the field to play some paintball. On the weekends, you can typically find me at Disneyland or out riding my bike."

"Initially I taught mathematics, and as I have studied more subjects the areas in which I tutor have also gotten broader. I have a language focus now. I enjoy the richness of the English language and even the challenge of following all of the rules, punctuation, etc. The job of a writing coach is also very important."
