"We worked on motion in two dimensions and how an object's movement can be broken down into sets of equations in the x coordinate and in the y coordinate, with time or Vo being a common variable. We reviewed how the values of sin and cos can be derived for the angles 0, 30, 45, 60, and 90 using triangles. We tried to build on the common physics problem solving theme -- what are known variables and what are unknown variables, and how many and which equations must be used to go from one to the other. We used symmetry to increase our "given knowledge" e.g. vertical velocity at the top of an object's trajectory is zero and the time there is half of the total trajectory's time -- thus a velocity time acceleration equation can be used in that case to find time, given known initial velocity. It was an effective session. The student worked extremely hard to get through the handout."
"We talked about a lot of things to help the student get ready for his test. Topics included orbits, circular motion, energy, etc."
"The student is working on Force body diagrams and vectors. We went through several vector problems slowly and completely together so she understands the concept from the ground up."
