Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student did significantly better on her last exam. We went over two bonus problems from her test she got wrong as well as went through her homework."
"Today the student and I covered math and history. He had completed his math homework upon my arrival. He had to determine the volume of pyramids and cones. We also reviewed his surface area math assessment that he took last Friday. He earned an 81% on the test. He had to do an assignment for social studies. He had to define a series of vocabulary terms using his own words."
"In this lesson, we worked on addition, subtraction and word problems. We started off going through the student's addition flashcards, which she did well on. Next, she worked through her homework. She did very well. After this, we reviewed addition with regrouping/carrying over, which I showed her last week. She did very well with this. She was able to solve most problems with little or no help/prompting. We ended the session working on subtraction word problems. Once she figured out the strategy, she did well solving the problems."
"Tonight the student did more homework working with both z scores and t scores. I plan to meet with her again this week to give her a mini lecture on the t distribution because I don't think she is used to it yet."
"I really enjoyed working with this student. He and I worked on permutations and combinations. I look forward to the possibility of sessions in the future."
"We worked on lurking variables, sampling methods, and the differences between observational studies, sampling surveys, and experiments. The student did very well with this material and didn't seem to have any issues, although we will have to review two-way tables in the future."
