Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I continued our conversation. His vocabulary is better than his grammar, so we are going to focus on improving his grammar."
"We had our first tutoring session today. We went over some of the material that the student already studied in her class, such as: greeting people at different times of the day, introducing ourselves to others, using numbers, telling time, and identifying parts of the body. We also reviewed the days of the week, the months of the year, and the seasons of the year."
"Today we did another review of the end of chapter 2, which talks about regular verbs and their conjugation. We also did a lot of conversational practice."
"Today the student and I worked on making corrections to a quiz. We also did an outline for a presentation that he has this week. We went over the rubric together and he was confused about some of the requirements so he is going to get clarification tomorrow. We will meet one more time before his final exam."
"Today we started off with a brief review of irregular preterit verbs and how to conjugate them. Next we did several translation review problems from English to Spanish. Today's vocabulary covered words for clothing for both men and women. We finished a few preposition questions from last week and ended with a review of possessive pronouns followed by a few short practice questions."
"This was the most delightful and fun session ever. The parents are so dedicated, they want both of their young daughters to learn Spanish. They are only in 5th and 3rd grades. After one session, they were speaking Spanish. We learned hello, how to ask a name, and what their family members were called, i.e., madre, padre, etc. We reviewed the numbers 1-10. They greeted their father in Spanish and the mother called to say they spoke Spanish all night. I am buying them both books for elementary Spanish, and will plan all kinds of fun artsy projects for them to write and have something to study each week."
