Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, the student and I worked on thermochemistry, solubility, formal charges, lattice energy, and general AP chemistry. She did not struggle with any material once it was explained in a different manner, borrowing from mathematics lessons. Her attitude was good."
"The student and I worked on molality, molarity, mole fraction, and mass percent type questions today. By the end of the session, he said that he was a lot more comfortable with doing those types of problems. Next session, we are going to work on some kinetics type questions from his review problem set, equilibrium problems, and also maybe do some review on what we went over today."
"We covered a review on mitosis, regulation of mitosis, cancer, and an introduction to meiosis and genetic diversity. The student was very appreciative of the material covered. I left him with a sneak peek at next week's material on Gregor Mendel and the discovery of genes. He has a quiz tomorrow on mitosis."
"Today, I met with the student for the first time. For today's session, we covered some sections of her class they covered before the winter break. Specifically, we looked at centripetal force, energy and energy conservation, work, momentum, and conservation of momentum. It was a really good review session. The student has a good idea about what is going on in her class."
"We continued to work on the student's preparation for the midterm. Today we covered topics related to naming compounds, polyatomic ions, and calculations with moles. For next time, she should continue working on the flashcards and make sure to complete the worksheet about radioactive decay series!"
"We had a very good first session. We went over some enthalpy problems the student was given in class. Also we discussed her project on alkanes and as to why they release more energy as chain length increases."
