Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We continued to work on kinematics and vector addition. The student seems to be getting significantly better with vectors and breaking them down into their components."
"Today, the student and I did problems together on friction, free body diagrams, decomposing vectors on inclined planes, work, kinetic energy and the work-energy theorem."
"Today, we covered some prompts that was basic review for the student: VSEPR shapes, polarity, and hybridization. We then moved into double displacement reactions."
"We reviewed the concepts of genetic diseases and gene therapy, going over real life examples and implementing the principles into examples. We also reviewed the basic structure of eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells."
"Today, we reviewed for the student's upcoming test, focusing on the structure of the cell (both plant and animal), cellular respiration, photosynthesis, and the cell cycle. He seemed to have forgotten a good portion of the material from the last session, though considering there was winter break, it's understandable. He did understand the material once we went over it again, so hopefully the session on Saturday will go more smoothly. We also started the next chapter on evolution, and we mostly went over its history regarding Darwin and Alfred Russel Wallace."
"Today, we went over the cell cycle in detail. We also began reviewing for the student's exam. In addition to the cell cycle, we covered parts of a cell, the behavior of water, and passive and active transport. We covered the differences between pro- and eukaryotes, details of all the organelle systems, and endosymbiotic theory."
