Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I continued to work on the conics sections. She finished all homework assignments in this section and also completed a project and the test. She learned about writing equations for and graphing hyperbolas, transverse axis, calculating foci for a hyperbola, writing equations for and graphing ellipses, major and minor axes, vertices and co-vertices, finding foci for an ellipse, writing equations for and graphing parabolas, focus, and directrix."
"The student and I did a final review for her physics tests. We went over the formulas and how to approach each problem as we went through a review packet she had from class. She felt more comfortable the more problems she did, and had some practice with old topics she had not practiced since the beginning for the year."
"The student and I continued our study of circle characteristics: chords, secants, tangents, and the measure of same. We also looked at measurement of inscribed angles and corresponding arcs and did a review of her recent homework. We also reviewed material likely to come up on state assessment exam on 6/17."
"We continued working through problems the student was given by his teacher. We did factoring, simplifying expressions, solving for x, domain and range, intercepts, and graphing. He will practice factoring, canceling, and solving for x in quadratic functions. He is doing a great job."
"The student and I reviewed for her test tomorrow. A little bit of review helped her to find the values she needed. With a little study on the last few questions, she should be in great shape to take the test."
"The student and I covered arithmetic and geometric sequences as well as combinations, permutations and the normal curve in preparation for his last test next week. He seems pretty well prepared, and we will begin reviewing next week for his final."
