Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We spent a good deal of time reading Chapter 5 aloud, stopping at crucial points in the text to discuss symbolism. He made some truly marvelous connections between key points in the text, and by the end of the session, he was more than adequately prepared to finish his short written assignment."
"The student and I spent the session today practicing his reading. We read together the book Beloved, paying special attention to new words and the structure of the narrative. It is my hope that by practicing his reading he will gain a better feel for the way the words are put together, thereby improving his grammar as well. I left him with a few vocabulary words to look up, as his chief problem is his limited vocabulary, especially of idiomatic phrases."
"Today, we covered Chapters 1 and 2 of C.S. Lewis's book, "The Horse and His Boy". We examined the main characters including the protagonists, Shasta and Bree as they undertake their journey. I have assigned more reading for the student and in tomorrow's session we will cover the book "Beloved", and answer questions from the reading assigned tonight. '"
