Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over questions from practice problems of trigonometry. The new topics we covered today are solving non-linear system equations, introduction to matrix algebra, and determinants."
"The student's class is working on a review packet this week to prepare for finals. Today we worked through the problems that are due for homework tomorrow, on the topics of sequences and series and statistics."
"In this session, the student and I continued to work on matrices. He had moved on from Gaussian elimination to multiplicative inverses. I explained to him what the identity was and how this was a matrix form of the simple identity equation. We then reviewed his homework problems, which he breezed through. We talked about how matrices were used in codes, and I finished the session by quizzing him on different properties that we had gone over earlier. Since the actual problems are very straightforward when using a calculator, I wanted to make sure he knew what he was doing, how different formulas affected the matrices, and what matrices can be used for in order to understand the topic better."
"We prepared for the student's quiz on parametric equations and focused on projectile motion problems (solving for y-vertical and x-horizontal displacements)."
"We covered trig identities and started with basic trig. She did a good job with the material after a couple problems."
"We reviewed factoring and radical equations for the upcoming test on Wednesday, and covered uniform circular motion in physics."
