Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"More on force balance equations in two dimensions. Discussed law of sameness. Went over possible force combinations which could achieve equilibrium. Calculated tension in ropes and cords."
"We went over topics in electricity, electric fields, potential energy, and electric potential. We did practice problems and book problems."
"The student did very well on his last physics lab, so we did a quick review of it. We then did a worksheet on forces. Last, we did a worksheet on potential energy and kinetic energy."
"The student and I reviewed for her upcoming biology and chemistry exams. Specifically, for biology, we reviewed the major concepts of DNA and genetics (e.g., transcription and translation). For chemistry, we walked through polarity, intermolecular forces, balancing chemical reactions, and dilution. I gave her a sample set of biology problems to complete to help her prepare for the test. We walked through some of her chemistry problems that she was having difficulty with."
"Today the student and I went over transposable elements, antibiotic resistance, and ploidy of plants. He seemed to have a good grasp on the material and we will continue to meet on Monday evenings to go through review problems."
"The student has her midterm on Friday, so we began a 2-part review today. We went through her old quizzes and her review sheet. I quizzed her on topics from her earlier quizzes and asked questions in different ways to build on her understanding of the concepts, and also present the information in different ways that a test could present the information. We got through more of the chapters from this term but will finish on Wednesday and do a comprehensive review."
