"We practiced multiplying matrices for Algebra II, and looked at a few consistency-related grammar errors from the SAT. We also looked at Algebra II questions on the SAT."
"This session, we spent the first hour focusing on the reading section and how to best utilize the time given. The student was averaging over 12 minutes per passage, but we knocked it down to about 9.5. Our next step is to get it to about 8.5 per passage. She does a great job with answering the questions correctly. The second half of the session, we focused on science. We took a similar approach to the timing of it (5 minutes per passage) but also focused on the ways to make the section easier (not getting caught up in the unnecessary pieces, focusing on data and labels, etc.)."
"We continued by reviewing the following strategies for the ACT math test: Solving equations quickly with two variables, area of two or more connecting geometric shapes, factoring polynomials, and trig functions. The student had taken three ACT math tests and was scoring 3-5 points higher than her initial test. We reviewed problems that she missed. Next session, we will review the science portion of the test."
