Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This tutoring session consisted of a review of pre-primer words. The student is making progress with most of the pre-primer words. We also have continued to review numbers 11-20."
"The student continued to practice reviewing concepts for the exam she is taking next week. Today, we covered perimeter and area of rectangles/squares as well as properties of polygons. The specific properties and terminology are covered in questions on the exam regularly, so these are something that are important to cover. She did well with the problems, but did need some guidance and reminders for some of the topics since she isn't actively using these topics."
"Student A completed his math review sheet for the upcoming final exam. He did very well on the review sheet. Student B and I practiced for his upcoming math final exam. He did well also."
"Today was a really good session with the student! He has his assessment tomorrow, so we continued with some practice on circle graphs and probability. He said that overall he feels more comfortable, and I believe that he may need a little more practice. He understands the overall process and is doing a lot better! We spent most of the session on the assessment practice questions, and he did really well (getting almost all of them right.) The ones that were missed were usually because of him not reading the question in complete detail, but I'm confident that if he's diligently reading the questions he'll do well. I gave him square roots and probability to work on after his assessment for our Sunday session, so that we can finish that concept and start on the next one!"
"We covered inequalities. She struggled with reading inequality graphs and solving for the unknown algebraically. She maintained a wonderfully positive attitude throughout the entire tutoring session! I gave her test-taking strategies. She was able to talk me through how to solve the problems and explain why she could eliminate answer. She explained the reasoning behind how she knew which answer choice was the correct answer. The biggest win was that she maintained a positive attitude throughout the entire session."
"This would be our last tutoring session for the semester, as this is the last day before his math exam. We are confident moving forward, as we went through all of the material on the test together. We focused on interest, probability, and properties of 3D shapes, as these three areas are relative weaknesses for the student. I am confident that he will do well on the exam, as long as he focuses and takes things slow."
