Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The client has a quiz tomorrow on verbs. He also has some quizzes coming up on vocabulary. We practiced making sentences with all of the above over and over, so that he strengthens his memory of the meaning of the verbs and vocabulary, and also has practice with conjugation in various forms."
"The student and I reviewed the most important information for her final exam. She did well in the preparation. She will continue to work on her vocabulary and some last-minute grammar work that she wasn't sure about."
"We started with a reading activity, where he read a text and tried to find all the subjunctive verbs in the text. We then moved on to writing, where after seeing the mistakes in the first paragraph, we did a review of the two main types of past tense used and their conjugations. We ended by doing a quick vocabulary review."
"Today we reviewed the student's essay and we corrected the mistakes within it. The paper is still too short to be ready for the final draft, so I will be coming on Saturday to help him finish. Afterwards we will review for the final which is coming in two weeks or so."
"In this session our primary focus was working on informal and formal affirmative and negative commands. We reviewed how each of these is formed, and practiced utilizing them in sentences. We also reviewed irregular verb commands (hacer, decir, ser, etc.). As part of the new material we covered we reviewed present tense verbs conjugations. We then did a quick lesson on numbers in Spanish, which the student had not previously done before, going through how they are formed, including 1-100, the hundreds, thousands and up to millions. We ended the session with assessment listening comprehension practice. Overall very good, however I would suggest he regularly reviews both present and past tense conjugations and verb endings, as this is something he is not always able to recall without looking at past notes."
"The student and I began practicing for his oral presentation exam. He was placed with the task to write a brief narrative of several depictions of his teacher's choice. We spent time writing and correcting about a cartoon drawing of a soccer game, one of a student falling down the stairs and fracturing himself, and one about a grandmother celebrating her birthday party. The student continues to display internalized knowledge of Spanish language conjugation. We worked a little bit on voice inflection and proper enunciation of certain words."
