Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student has been learning the language for a long time and has a good grasp of the fundamentals, but there are some things her teacher feels she could improve. We spent most of our time tonight finishing those work sheets she had already begun. We worked on irregular verbs. We also spent some time on vocabulary; namely, direction and location, which will be covered on her oral exam tomorrow."
"The student's making great progress. Before our last two sessions he completed his homework before I'd even arrived, and told me they were "easy". I looked at the homework activities he had to complete online last night, and there were some complex sentences but he said he only had to do each activity once or twice to get them all right and understood all of the sentences. Still, I'd prefer he do his homework with me there so I can see how he thinks through his answers and what particular things he struggles with."
"The student and I worked on her three homework assignments. We also discussed making flashcards, for the subjunctive and not subjunctive key phrases. The student has an upcoming project she will work on and send to me for proofreading. She did not have the assignment on hand, so we will complete the remainder of our time online."
"With the student's, we covered the conjugations of "to go" and worked on sentences involving people or animals, where they go, and what they do there. I explained how Spanish verbs conjugate with a different spelling for each person/number, and how that is different from English. I had them practice some of the words we used with anagram tiles. With student 1, I also used the anagram tiles which we used to spell a list of words he wanted to know. We also played a puzzle game with pictures of common objects and their names in Spanish."
"Tutor and student reviewed examples of direct object pronouns, and practiced the use of these pronouns ("me/te/la/lo/las/los"); also recently assigned vocabulary. Student showed tutor some homework and a recent quiz. The student appeared to make a good effort through most of the lesson."
"* I met the student for breakfast where he ordered everything in Spanish, also communicating with the waitress in Spanish. * I checked the translation of the phrases he had found that will help him fulfill his upcoming trips. * We discussed different methods that would work better for him as he works on communication."
