Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"In this session, we reviewed laws of sines and cosines, vectors and vector operations, and polar coordinates. The student is still showing good understanding of the laws. He did well with vectors and vector operations. He had a very solid understanding of polar coordinates."
"The student was all caught up on his Physics for the break, but he had some Pre-Calculus to work on. He had some kind of a loan project to work on, but he needed to do some research on house prices first. Instead, we worked on a test review on graph transformations. He had the basic idea already, but I tried to help him get really comfortable with it. Then we worked a few problems on logarithms and exponents. Lastly, we did some problems involving loan payments. He should be able to handle his mortgage problem now too."
"We went over how to graph rational functions. We went over the student's homework and practiced going through the process of finding vertical and horizontal asymptotes, x- and y-intercepts, and asymptote-crossing points. I showed the student how to approach problems involving rational functions by breaking them down into sections and using graphical clues and extra points in order to determine the behavior of a function."
"The student and I continued to work on his study guide today. The main focus of the problems we worked over today were the chain rule, product rule, and quotient rule. He needed some refreshing for these, so we spent a good amount of time reviewing those."
"During this session, we went through another practice test over the phone, this time practice test #3. The student and I worked through all the problems. This was our last phone session, and we will meet in person on Thursday to continue review."
"Today we worked on section 5.3. We practiced using the sum and difference identities for applied trigonometry. All three students appear to be doing better in the class than they were several weeks ago."
