Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I reviewed quickly for his upcoming test covering current material. Topics included parabolas, ellipses, and circles. We covered the different equations (and forms of equations) that can be written for each. For parabolas, we covered the vertex, focus, and directrix. For ellipses, we covered foci, semi-major/semi-minor axes, and vertex/co-vertex."
"The student and I began by reviewing his physics homework over the force equation. I then taught him how to use the properties of exponents in algebraic expressions. At the end of the session, I also showed him a few strategies for the ACT."
"Student practiced the uses of preterit and imperfect forms. He still needs to practice the use of irregular verbs in the preterit form. He has received a couple of websites that he can use to practice on his own."
"We covered functions that involved exponents and logs. We worked on solving them and graphing them. We also wrote functions that modeled exponential growth or decay. We cleaned up the student's math binder and made it more organized. I asked her to obtain a folder to put complete homework assignments in."
"The student and I began the session by working on his Math homework assignment. The lesson consisted of rounding decimals to the ones, tenth, and hundredths place. We then worked on 4 of the problems from his Math study guide. He logged the work he did in his Math practice log. Additionally, he made an entry in his Reading log on some reading he had done online."
