Fen made all the difference. My son who was panic stricken in preparing for an extremely difficult economics final was able to pass the course and graduate from NYU. Fen was not only incrdeiblly knowledgeable but was also an amazing tutor. Patient and able to find ways to help Ben commit the vast amount of information to memory. Varsity was wonderful in every way and we appreciate having had them to turn to.

Today we went over the student's reading comprehension skills. I timed her based off of how many questions the passage was asking her to answer. We also talked about how confident she felt in each section. She said she was most confident in the analogies, math, and writing. Next session we will start reviewing for the Math Section.

Economics Tutoring review by Shivam in Duluth, GA
We started off with some basic accounting concepts and terms. We also covered a lot of ratios which were necessary for some of the problems we worked on. Then we worked on more problems covering ratios as well as other concepts. After that, we covered some discounting concepts and did some problems. We achieved a pretty good progress during the session, and I feel like the student was more confident about the topics leaving the session.

We went over the basic structure of the student's college application essay, got started brainstorming, and managed to discuss a great rough draft.  The student wants to fine-tune the draft and continue with her writing tomorrow, when I will be returning.  The student is applying to several other colleges, and mentioned that she needs to complete essays for those applications as well.

The student and I worked together over Skype to continue progress on her early childhood portfolio. We reviewed three more lesson write-ups. She also made samples for the pasta bead lesson that will also be a part of the portfolio. She has made excellent progress on this large scale project and only has a few more written components to complete.

Economics Tutoring review by David in Duluth, GA
The student and I first discussed general questions about his course (its structure, the timing of his final exam and material covered) and the problems he has been encountering with the material. We also went over specific problems from his study guide on perfectly competitive firms and markets. We discussed how to approach particular kinds of questions and what information to look for. We also went over economic concepts related to solving the questions and discussed the process of arriving at an answer. We concluded our session by returning to big picture questions about the kinds of concepts he would like the most help with and planning for our next session.
