Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked on her math class study guide, which included percentages, scientific notation, sig figs, and probability. We made good progress."
"We worked on general concepts and specific problems related to solving complex problems involving logarithms and power functions."
"Student A and I worked on some math practice in his workbook and I checked his homework for school. Student B and I worked on a new concept for his algebra class, which was finding values of systems of equations."
"We worked on evaluating equations using given values for variables, simplifying equations, and some tricky problems involving geometry. The student admittedly has the most trouble just slowing down her process so that she avoids mistakes. However, her knack for understanding the nature of the word problems keeps improving."
"Today the student and I tackled the last problem on his unit review sheet. I asked him to solve it, and with only a little bit of prompting he was able to do it. We also completed 4 problems on his percentages worksheet, but he understands how to do the problems, so he can complete them on his own. He takes a long time doing problems; however, when he does put his mind to it, he solves the problems successfully. He says that he enjoys our sessions; I tell him ways in which math will be useful to him in life."
"The student and I reviewed 10 multiple choice problems that are supposed to be representative of what will be on Wednesday's exam. We discussed every problem and every answer option. He seemed to have a good grasp on most of them, and on the few to which he did not initially have a good grasp, he seemed to after we discussed them. He seems more confident going into these multiple choice test problems than in the past. The test this week will be telling."
