Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student had most of his math homework finished. He quickly finished what was left and then we began on reading. He read quite a bit of "The Hobbit." I stopped him quite often to check for comprehension and he did very well. His goal is to read for 35 minutes every night."
"The student completed her revision of her personal narrative. She successfully added details and fixed most grammar errors. Constructing compound sentences with coordinating conjunctions was the focus of today's lesson. She was able to construct her own sentences using a variety of coordinating constructions after I modeled the process. Her next assignment was to write a paragraph with at least two simple and two compound sentences to develop awareness of varying sentence structures."
"We read two different stories, and I had him write a five paragraph essay on the first story. I corrected the format and the noun -verb conjugation. He is doing very well. He is applying what he has learned extremely well, and I would categorize his work on essays and individual interpretation of the stories read as grade 6 equivalent work. He then took the test for the first story and also performed very well."
