Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"During this session we went over specific questions the student had on questions he did. He just has to work on writing on scrap paper. He is doing great!"
"Review of molecular cloning, sample exam and sample problems, genomic vs DNA library, when to use different techniques, a bit on SNPs, and aneuploidy."
"I gave the students an exam covering motion and Newton's Laws. Covered projectile motion, more force balance, and impulse momentum."
"In this session, we went over kinetic versus potential energy and the student solved a couple homework problems. She was unsure how to set up the first few, but once she got the hang of it, she didn't even need my help!"
"This was session one of a two-session review for exams next week. We worked through a series of practice quizzes and I helped remind the student of what he and I had talked about at previous sessions to help him remember how to solve these problems. We reviewed methods of working these kind of multiple choice questions to eliminate the answers that do not stand up and making the choices easier. With some of these questions it is better to start with the last answer and work backwards since many times the answer is c,d, or e in questions like this."
"This session focused mostly on energy calculations. The student had some questions on a practice exam, so I began the session by thoroughly solving those problems and expounding on the concepts necessary to understand the problem. Once we covered that material, I gave her some new problems in the same area to solve on her own. She did well with the practice problems and was engaged in the lecture-type parts of the session, quick to ask questions about confusing parts or when I have been inconsistent in my math."
