Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I covered two logic games that gave her trouble from the homework I assigned. She needs practice on connecting long conditional reasoning chains. The more experience the better! She does well on logical reasoning and if she slows down and keeps it simple when she is on her own, she can get a great score. She should complete practice exams and review the explanations before next session. She should also work on the conditional reasoning."
"This was my first session back with the student. She told me that she's feeling a lot more comfortable with logic games since our last sessions, so she wanted to focus on logical reasoning now. The student had a few sections that she worked through, starting at question 15 and continuing through the end. She finds that this is her trouble spot, up until that point she does really well. We went through the problems she missed, focusing on the strategy she was missing that would have helped her get the correct answer. We finished our lesson by going over in detail flaw and assumption type questions."
"This was our last session, since the student is taking the LSAT on Monday. We went over difficult LR questions from recent prep tests. I also advised her not to do any studying the day before the test. As long as she goes into the test feeling rested, I'm sure the student will do well."
"During our session, we worked through the incorrect answers on the logical reasoning sections and one passage from the reading comprehension section. We also discussed some possible strategies and general tips for the logic games. Between now and the exam, he is going to complete practice sections individually, without trying to complete an exam in a single sitting. He is also going to try completing one reading comprehension section using the strategy of guessing on questions for one passage."
"I met with the student and he had done several sections since our last session. He is doing extremely well on the reading comprehension and has shown a nice improvement in the logical reasoning as well. We went over some games sections in order to come up with some other strategies for diagramming and visualizing the fact patterns. His composite score on the practice tests is approaching 160, which is excellent. We plan to meet again in two weeks."
"We talked briefly about the test generally and the student's goals and previous test-taking attempt. We focused mostly on Logic Games. We tried to come up with a system for attacking these problems--this is the student's greatest area of difficulty. The student has a positive attitude but probably needs to see some success to stay motivated. I encouraged the student to practice before meeting with me on Saturday morning."
