Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I began by discussing her PSAT exam. She believed that she improved a lot in the math section and that she did well on the other sections. We had a brief discussion on the differences between the SAT and the ACT, as well as the SAT and SAT II Subject exams. After that, we did one multiple choice math section from the prep book, applying the same strategies from previous PSAT tutoring. She did very well on the math section, reasoning most questions out on her own after a slight confidence boost from me. We also did 5 sentence completion questions. Again, she had a very good instinct for eliminating answer choices. I plan to give her an SAT vocabulary list to help her become more certain of words and definitions."
"We went over several types of common SAT grammar problems and some SAT math problems. The student is clearly very strong in math in general, although I asked him to try a practice math section and send me his results before our next session so we could determine his strengths as pertains to SAT math in particular."
"On Sunday the student and I covered writing and grammar on the SATs. We worked on understanding the way in which questions are phrased and how to rule out certain answers."
