Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today's material was challenging. We covered probability (single events, compounded events, independent events, and dependent events). The work on probability requires more reading comprehension than most of the previous material. The student did well on his vocab quiz."
"The student did a good job working. We started off by reading and taking notes on a chapter of his history textbook discussing Woodrow Wilson's Fourteen Points. He then worked on math homework, and we finished by briefly going over human skeletal structure for his science class."
"In today's session, I worked with the student on unit conversions. We covered both standard and metric conversions, as well as identifying the most applicable unit for various problems. The student did very well with this topic. We also covered Spanish vocabulary."
"The student and I focused on his book report, as well as his math worksheets today. He understands the concepts of volume/measurements very well."
"The student is writing a book for his English class. We wrote his 'about the author' section and discussed the writing style usually used in real books. We also went back through the first draft of several of his chapters and talked about ways he could make them more complex. We worked together on varying the sentence structure and making some of the ideas more vivid and clear."
"The concepts that we covered specifically were mostly multiplication and division problems. He initially struggled to compute his multiplication times-tables. The student really was interested in improving not only his math skills, but also his writing skills. I included more strategies, especially for the writing component of his packet. He needs to practice more of his skills more often, so that he does not forget any pertinent information."
