Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"I gave her a quiz on Ellipses and we went over her parabola homework. We went over the shifted conics and prepared her for her parabola/hyperbola quiz for Friday."
"The student and I went over the three Pythagorean Identities and how to derive them from the most common one involving sin and cos."
"The student's class has moved to solving complex equations involving trig. Ex: sin(x) = 1 + tan(x). We went over this today and will continue with this in our next session."
"We went through exercises on angles, trigonometric functions sine and cosine on special angles 30, 45, 60 degrees, and using reference angles to evaluate trig function values."
"We covered transformations of functions, as he finally had homework on it. He did well and was able to have the concepts/ formulas for the shifts memorized by the end of our session. We did lots of practice problems on top of the homework he was given. We then went on to preview absolute values of functions (e.g. f(x) = |x^2|). We've been consistently ahead, so I think we will continue as we have been."
"We talked about radian and degree measure and how they related to the radius of a circle and arc length as concepts. We discussed reference angles and how they were related to coterminal angles. We also worked on how to do conversions and write expressions for coterminal angles."
