Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We discussed the student's homework assignment on prime and composite numbers, and prime factorization. He did very well on this."
"Word problems involving proportions and ratios, did some vocabulary fill-in-the blanks, discussed and completed simple and compound subjects and predicates of sentence structures."
"Reviewed the student's homework assignments on rational number word problems. We are working on improving her comprehension of math concepts and memorization of multiplication tables, and we will continue to do so in future sessions."
"We reviewed the division problems I left the student with yesterday. Aside from 2 minor errors, she otherwise answered them correctly. We then covered complex multiplication (multiplying numbers in the millions to numbers in the thousands). When she slows down, she usually is correct in her calculations. She was the one to propose the complex multiplication. She was able to solve 10 of 12 division questions of varying difficulty all on her own. The only 2 she did not answer correctly were due to minor errors. A major win in seeing her answer so many division questions on her own."
"Per the student's mother's request, we covered chapter 6.8 from the book. We covered, specifically, the illustrated example of fractional word problems, and practice problems #1-8. She did well on most of the problems. The problems that asked what the total was were easier than the problems that asked what remained were."
"Today we went over converting tons to pounds and pounds to ounces. We also went over changing inches to feet, feet to yards, and inches to yards. We reviewed lessons 1 and 2 from chapter 12 since we are already at lesson 3. The student is doing very well with this chapter. He was also able to complete spiral review which included multiplying fractions and mixed numbers with whole numbers."
