Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, we went over the ideal gas law, Avogadro's principle, and gas stoichiometry. The student was very positive and wanting to learn. I left her with multiple practice problems from this whole unit. Her test is Wednesday of next week, so we will meet again on Tuesday to go over the problems I left her."
"The student and I started the session working on trigonometric identities problems. I helped her with some general strategies on the solving process. We then moved to chemistry. We worked through some AP test prep review questions dealing with thermodynamics, acid base reactions, ideal gas laws, and metallic bonding. She demonstrated an ability to apply the concepts she learned in her classes to the practice problems. She extrapolated principles she learned and conceptual models to the homework well. I suggest she continue to work on understanding broader chemical concepts and apply them to everyday life."
"Since the student's final exam is coming up in just under three weeks, and the AP test is in just under a month, this was our last regular session before we start serious test review. In the course of the lesson, we went over the material from their last unit on free energy and electrochemistry; specifically, we worked through a pair of AP test problems on galvanic cells, including half reactions (re-visiting stoichiometry and Hess' law), cell potential, and the relation to reaction quotients and equilibrium constants. She seemed to generally have a fairly good grasp of the concepts and equations."
