Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This was my first session with the student and it went swimmingly. We spent the first few minutes getting acquainted and then proceeded to discuss her relationship with the SAT thus far. I inquired about her past experience with standardized testing and then had her outline her goals and expectations for our time together. She recounted her experience taking a class with a test prep course over the summer; she said that she learned some helpful, test-taking hints from the course, but she didn't feel that the instructors gave her any personalized attention or tailored the lessons to fit her specific needs. We then began working with a test prep book. I had her complete the first ten problems from each of the respective sections, so that I could get a sense of her working style and begin to observe how her proficiency varied from section to section. She had good instincts on all of the sections, but it appears that she will need a bit of extra practice with the Math. I think she displays tremendous potential for growth and I am looking very forward to working with her!"
"The student did 1 math section outside of our session, so we went over that and continued with math and then critical reading. He did exceptionally well on the critical reading."
"We covered: reinforcing and testing Substitution, Ratios, Percents, 30-60-90 and 45-45-90 triangles, prime numbers knowledge."
