Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Since the student has never taken the ACT before, I began by going over the basics of the tests (what the sections are, what you're expected to know), and test-taking strategies. I also printed off a list of common mistakes students make on the ACT (such as not reading carefully) and we talked about it. To prepare for this session, he took a practice ACT. I graded each section; math is definitely his strongest, while he struggled a bit on reading. We were able to go over English and math in depth today -- he has a firm grasp of all the concepts, and just needs to work on reading questions/answer choices carefully. Next time, we will work on reading and science, which he needs a little more help on. Also, we will work on the writing section, since he feels unsure about his writing skills."
"We covered: ACT math, writing and reading--practice tests, strategies, etc. Only one more session before the ACT exam. The student is making progress!"
"We went over the English sections of the test and we have started doing timed tests in order to practice for the type of environment the student will be in during testing."
