"The student stated that linear regression and residuals were not his strongest topics in class, so we went over multiple examples today. Some examples gave just the x and y data, and he was able to successfully calculate the residuals using the function on the TI-89 after a little troubleshooting with an 'undefined data' message (needed to transfer to new list). We also reviewed calculating residuals by hand and I explained the correlation coefficient and coefficient of determination in context."
"The student and I reviewed for her AP exam tomorrow. We first looked over the list of AP exam topics. Then, we reviewed those topics which she did not feel comfortable with. We specifically discussed the application aspects of derivatives and integrals."
"In our final session, we reviewed the equation sheet I left the student with and reviewed all of the theorems of the AP Calculus. Then, we completed a prior year's multiple choice section of the AP Calculus test. We reviewed inverse function derivatives, linearization, related rates, and density problems. The student showed great progress throughout our sessions and was a pleasure to work with!"
"We covered topics on tomorrow's test: radical equations; finding the inverse of a function; verifying graphically that two functions are not inverses; determining whether a function is one-to-one in order to know whether its inverse is also a function; transformations on functions and the resulting changes in domain and range. I left the student some practice problems (with solutions) on radical equation modeling/application problems."
"Reviewed for the upcoming trig exam covering mostly the laws of sines and cosines. Also started the graphing of trig functions covering amplitude, period and frequency. The student remains on top of this material and should do well on the exam."
"The main concept we covered was solving trigonometric functions. We also reviewed the sum and difference trigonometric formulas, the double angle trigonometric formulas and the half angle trigonometric formulas."
