"We worked on proofs relating to quadrilaterals. The student is a pleasure to work with. He understands the material when I explain it. He will have a test on Tuesday. I left him with strategies for proofs and his test."
"We worked through a geometry practice test for the student's exam on Tuesday. He did really well with it. When he did have a problem, it was mainly not knowing formulas, so I think if he brushes up on those before Tuesday, he'll do great!"
"We covered surface areas of 3D shape cross sections and how to visualize those cross sections. We drew six different views of a 3D block shape as well as the isometric view. The student did well."
"We covered the definitions and surface area and volume formulas for prisms, pyramids, cylinders, cones, and spheres. I related prisms to pyramids and cylinders to cones. The student caught on very quickly and had an excellent attitude. He struggled most with recalling formulas for the cylinders and confusing pi^2 with units^2. I left him with review lessons and practice problems with solutions. Sending me the material in advance was helpful and time-saving. Thank you. It was a pleasure tutoring you."
"We covered transformations and triangle congruence. The student was a bit slow on a few definitions, but really everything went well today. He was very positive today. We just worked through everything together, I let him take the lead and I stepped in when he had a question or I saw something was a bit off. He's going to get some biology ready for us to work on tomorrow. It was a great session. I think he really has this material down. I'm feeling better about his chances of doing well on the final."
"We went over his practice test problems dealing with volumes and surface areas of prisms including octagonal and hexagonal-based. In addition, I suggested he write and review the various formulas for the areas of the aforementioned shapes and circles as well as volume of pointed prisms."
