Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
Currently, the student is going over mean, median, and mode in his class. Like our previous sessions, we spent the session doing practice problems. However, this time, I had the student work on mostly word problems. We began our session with basic questions, and then I juxtaposed them with word problems that applied the exact same concepts and steps for solving. By doing so, the student was able to see that word problems were not as intimidating as he usually feels they are, and we built up his confidence with his math.
I will continue to concentrate on practicing word problems with him."
