Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked on and completed a homework lesson on proportions and ratios. The student performed well and seemed very focused this session."
"Reviewed algebraic expressions with the student. Worked on reading and writing comprehension questions."
"The student has a test coming up next Monday on linear equations, so we went over some past tests, quizzes, and homework to prepare. She had made a few mistakes, so we went through and corrected each. Whenever I asked her how to do a problem (or at least how to start it), she could explain the process to me immediately. This tells me that she knows and understands the concepts well. She seems to be prone to tiny errors in high-pressure assessment situations. We talked about how she should relax and take her time, rereading through her work when possible and looking for those little mistakes. I am very impressed with how well she could do all of the problems and answer all of my questions. From what I have seen, she should ace the test easily. We will be meeting again next Monday at 6:30. She will have at least one new assignment by then, so our plan is to move ahead of her class so she is not confused when her teacher begins new topics."
"We did textbook problems covering exponential functions and logarithmic functions. I taught the student how to graph exponential functions and gave her an idea of how they work. I also gave her an idea of how logarithmic functions work and showed her how to evaluate logarithmic expressions. We will be continuing on this exponential and logarithmic equations for next time."
"The student is going to do great tomorrow on his test. We worked on practice problems for ratios with expressions and percent problems. We then went through the chapter tests for each chapter and I gave him some things to remember before his test tomorrow."
"We reviewed material for the student's math final, focusing mainly on graphing and slope formulas. I believe that the student knows the material very well, he just needs to take his time. I left him with a formula and cheat sheet to help him further prepare for his test."
