Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This session we focused on learning restaurant vocabulary. We also practiced days and the week and completed listening comprehension activities. The students will be studying their vocabulary for next session."
"Had detailed class on past and present perfect. Reviewed imperatives. Practiced Conversation. The student has improved drastically since the start. His strongest improvement is his listening."
"The student was able to read the first few pages of his book and write two sentences. He is still working on creating sentences on his own instead of just answering in English. He is improving every week!"
"Today we started with a review of everything we did the last time. (Spanish alphabet, AR regular conjugations, basic greetings). I gave the student some work to complete at home. I then introduced to him a large array of subjects including telling time, numbers, Spanish nouns and their grammatical rules, colors, new vocabulary pertaining to months and dates, etc."
"The student learned some of the uses of the verb ser and how to conjugate it. We practiced using possessive adjectives, which was tricky. We will continue to practice this next time along with the verb tener."
"The student and I reviewed key terms for his Spanish quiz on Tuesday. The terms and phrases included Spanish greetings, questions, and farewells. First, we sorted terms that he was least familiar with (to give them extra attention). We created flashcards for all terms with Spanish and English definitions. I had him practice using each of the terms with me out loud to incorporate some functional communication. We practiced the pre-made flashcards his teacher sent home, with the Spanish terms matching to specific pictures. I set aside 4 terms that he had struggled with the most to be reviewed for extra practice. He worked hard and did a great job staying focused throughout the session."
