"Today we started chapter 7 of the Geometry class, which is the introduction to trigonometry. I decided to take a different approach since the material seemed much more simple than other units. We went through the entire pre-test together and I taught him the material myself. This took almost the entire session. The student caught on to the material very quickly, and I don't think this chapter will take very much time."
"The student and I worked hard at completing her geometry homework, assessing geometrical concepts pertaining to circles. Although there were some very clear concept to iron out, by the end of the session, she had a very good understanding of the material. As always, this was a very productive session and I sincerely look forward to working with her more soon."
"Today we covered ratios of perimeters and areas. We worked through homework problems on a worksheet. We practiced converting between length ratios and area ratios. The student is able to work through individual problems with assistance, and will continue to practice in order to fully solidify the concepts."
"The student reported that he has a low A in mathematics. His course is online so we will be working off of the computer that his mother supplied. He struggled with probability but after practicing several problems and rereading through problems he was able to work through them. We took a practice test where I helped to clarify the problems and work through them. Afterwards he took the test for his module while I observed without helping him and he was able to score a 100%."
"We covered Geometry and reviewed for final exam. We worked on the strategies of writing down formulas and writing down steps to solve problems. Practice was the study guide given by the teacher. The student was able to practice and understand the steps to take in order to solve problems."
"We went over finding surface areas and volumes of cylinders, pyramids, cones, spheres, rectangles, etc."
