Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Since this was my first meeting with this student, we talked and got to know each other a little bit. He's hoping to get further ahead in math and we'll also work on English a bit, as he finds this subject to be the most difficult."
"Reviewed Triangle and Angle properties and problems and looked ahead to the next section of theories."
"The first student and I worked on solving series problems. The second student and I worked on science (light) and math problems on the school's math website."
"We went over the problem solving process using multistep problem solving cards that I provided. We focused on vocabulary and recollection of the tools needed to solve each problem so that the student could be most successful given her current skill set."
"We covered multi-step word problems and addition of decimals. Once we had reviewed the decimals a few times, the student felt very comfortable with the material. There was a lot of progress in her ability to solve multi-step word problems. She was able to understand what the question was asking her to do. She was struggling initially with fraction word problems, but by the end of the session, she felt very comfortable with the subject. Because she had a test on Wednesday, we will work on any problems that she didn't understand on the test as well as fraction word problems at our next session."
"We worked on base ten operations with subtraction. The student seems to be making progress in understanding how place value works with adding and subtracting tens, hundreds, thousands, and ones. We worked a little with the value of money and change. We will work again on that in our next session. I am pleased with his progress so far."
