Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed Chapter 4 today and went through the majority of the end of the chapter exercises. The student should work on distinguishing some of the tones and stroke order, as she was having difficulty with that today. She does well on translating Chinese into English. For homework, she will work on the second half of the vocabulary from this chapter and how to write the countries from the previous chapter (writing each character 10 times) before this coming Thursday's session."
"In yesterday's session, I taught the students how to write Chinese characters, which is something we had not covered yet. They were surprised at the complexity of the process, but they understood the concept. I could tell it was challenging, but they really enjoyed practicing and figuring out the stroke order together. It was a great lesson, and I hope they enjoyed learning a new component of Chinese."
"I spent the first hour reviewing with Student 1 his math homework and discussing his social studies essay. I then spent the remaining time with Student 2. I quizzed him on vocabulary, and we practiced some grammar constructions."
