Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we worked on polar coordinates. After explaining what they are and how they are used, the student quickly got comfortable with them. We got him caught up to the current class lesson and looked ahead to the next topic, which is complex numbers. I briefed him on what that would be about and that concluded our session."
"The student has a test tomorrow on trigonometric identities involving sum and differences, double angles, and half angles. She came in with a solid foundation of how to solve these types of problems, so we spent the session going over more challenging examples."
"The student and I mainly worked on limits of functions using the rule of L'Hopital's. She has the mastery of the main tool used, the derivatives of functions. We went over her homework. Finding limits requires different types of techniques that we had the opportunity to use with the different questions."
"The student informed he that he got a 90% on his last quiz. We continued to help him prepare him for his upcoming AP Calc exam. We covered limits, indeterminate functions, continuity, derivatives, and basic differentiation. Overall, he felt comfortable with most of the topics but struggled with solving indeterminate functions. We went over the examples in the practice exam book and we will continue to go over more examples."
"The topics we covered included Trigonometric Sum and Difference Formulas, Multiple Angle Formulas, Inverse Trigonometric Functions, Graphing of Trigonometric Functions, and Simplification of Complex Rational Expressions involving Square Roots. The student was able to understand well after a few examples. It did not take long for her to gain a proper understanding of the material. She should do well as long as she reviews."
"Today the student and I continued to review for her upcoming AP Chemistry and Pre-calculus exams. More of the same types of problems that we were working on this week: probability, combinatorics, thermochemistry, equilibrium, and kinetics. She continued to show adequate proficiency in most concepts. Overall a successful session."
