Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered trigonometric functions mainly. We spent a lot of time filling in missing sides and angles of triangles using the Pythagorean theorem, trigonometric functions, and inverse trigonometric functions. We then moved into finding the areas of compound shapes using many of the same strategies. The student had a very positive attitude and seemed to have a good base understanding of the material. At times he needed reminding of which trigonometric function to use, or exactly how to approach a problem. I saw he got a 21/28 on his last quiz, which is good, but definitely has room for improvement."
"The student's class has moved further into circles with a half-unit test to be given on Wednesday. So we went over some chapter review making sure to do some extra practice problems as the assigned homework was competed rather quickly. We spent time recalling previous rules and feeling comfortable using them on the current chapters. Being able to know that you can use the rules of quads and triangles to help you with proving certain aspects of circles will really help her. The student has quite an affinity for the properties of circles and she does very well when completing these assignments."
"Today we went over his learning target quiz 10 to be able to improve his grade and see where his mistakes are. He took separate piece of paper and we started solving incorrect problems on that piece of paper. The quiz was on angles of polygons (interior sum, one interior, exterior sum and one exterior angle of polygons). After we finished correcting the questions, he explained all the quiz questions, from the beginning, and he had solved each one correctly."
"We covered the 30/60/90 and 45/45/90 rules of triangles and briefly some trigonometric functions. The student appears to be strong in the subject, and has very little difficulty in solving his quiz and homework problems. He seems to be doing well in his class and got a perfect score on his online quiz due today."
"We covered trigonometry, right angled triangles, and solving word problems with these concepts. The girls needed repetition to solidify these concepts, and were strong in all of them by the end of our session."
"The student has an exam in chemistry coming up. We spent the evening practicing double and single replacement, and conversions. We reviewed his homework in conversions and he seemed to be grasping the concept. However, he needs a lot of practice in conversions. We will continue to work on that. In regards to the double and single replacement, he was doing wonderfully."
