"We continued going over the student's worksheets on intramolecular and intermolecular forces (dipoles, induced dipoles, covalent, ionic) and gas laws (partial pressures, mole fractions, experimental design). She has a better understanding of the topics; she just needs to go over a few specific details that will help her understand and answer questions better. We'll work on that in our next session."
"Today, we worked on torque, angular momentum, and inertia. The student's attitude was positive throughout the session. I included strategies to simplify the concepts and tips for remembering methods to solve. I look forward to our next session."
"We have reviewed electric field calculations for a charge distribution in 1D and 2D using basic calculus knowledge. The student had several concerns in grasping how to define the variable to integrate over and how to determine the components. We discussed these issues, and she is now feeling a lot more comfortable with the material as we went over sample cases together."
"We covered how to calculate forces in non-accelerating systems and how to tell if an object is moving even if it does not have an acceleration. This went into determining how to find forces that are being applied and determine if you are missing forces based on axis' being unbalanced. Additionally, we went into friction and how to assess which direction friction is going. All the homework was covered, and the student said he felt comfortable with everything."
"This week we covered acid-base reactions, titration with strong/ weak acids and bases, the Henderson Hasselbalch equation, and buffers. Next time we'll look at more examples based on these topics and how to solve them."
"In this session, the student and I covered the reproductive system. As always, she asks really insightful questions that show she wants a deeper understanding of the content. Additionally, we discussed her ideas for the lab she has to design for her class."
