Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Worked more problems on addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of fractions. Also reviewed decimal equivalents of basic fractions."
"Reviewed transformations, reflections, and rotations for upcoming test. Practiced plotting vertical and horizontal lines."
"After having such a busy week, the student got to "breath" a little. We discussed her grades in all her classes with the purpose of reminding her to keep her focus and motivation up. We also did some math homework and made sure she understood the new materials fully."
"We covered various statistical rules in preparation for a coming exam. In particular, we covered how to calculate odds, how to find the probability of independent events (such as coin flips or dice rolls) occurring, the at least once rule and, more generally, the rule that the probability of something occurring and it not occurring must sum to 1. Finally, we went over how to get probabilities from tables and the or rule for calculating probabilities. By the end of the session, the student seemed comfortable with using these various rules and more comfortable with the ideas and concepts behind these probability rules."
"We covered the improper integral today and reviewed a few concepts of the general integration. The student learned fast and had good grasp of knowledge from notes."
"We went over exponent rules, tips and tricks of how to simplify and substitute. The student understood the concept fast and well, just she tends to read over it too quickly and rush to finish, which I tried to help her with. She started to be more comfortable when I taught her some tips about factoring, by using substitution as well as different ways to express roots and larger equations."
