"We continued to work our way through his Book of Words and also read a short book. He practiced spelling words that end with a double consonant and "y" like "fuzzy" and "carry". We also read another book and practiced spelling and writing more words."
"Student A had a really great session. She worked on lots of literature, reading both Rumpelstiltskin and The Hippo and the Tortoise. Then she filled out her story cube and built it. She also got 100% on her spelling test and 100% on her vocabulary assessment. Student B also had a good session. He read two stories for literature about Louis Pasteur and Elizabeth Blackwell. He seemed to be engaged and enjoyed them. He then selected his book for his next literature unit, picking The Incredible Journey. He then worked on test readiness, answering questions about Hiawatha (which he had also read last week for poetry) and got them all right."
"We started our session by recapping with the student's parent what was reviewed during our last session, her impressive reading, spelling progress in school and how we would work in 20 minute intervals on 2 levels of phonics flash card, reading passages, phonics sounds workbook and a word game. This helped to set an expectation for the student on what we would cover during our session. She also listed each area we covered in her reading journal and received a sticker for doing well, for her efforts and continued progress."
